Last year we contracted Bill Brooker and his team to build a deck and swimming pool at our property in La Habra Heights. We were looking for someone that was local and had significant experience. Brooker Associates is three miles away and has been around for 46 years so they met the criteria. All the construction was on a steep hillside, posing a significant challenge. Also, I’m an engineer – the worst kind of customer, super anal, involved in ALL the details. This was not a problem. Bill and his team were outstanding. Everything from the initial contact, surveying the property (Bill needed to make sure we could access the hillside before he could consider taking the job), the design process, the construction process, interaction with La Habra Heights planning and inspection, was outstanding. Bill is incredibly thoughtful, addressing all of my questions and concerns. All his employees were kind, thoughtful, and polite. I was pretty amazed at the diversity of talent Bill has access to. Heavy excavation, welding, pool-building, carpentry, plumbing, landscape design, landscape irrigation, electrical, masonry, paint, even HVAC and finish carpentry. For the pool construction, I wanted to get my brother involved as he has significant experience in pool construction and maintenance. For many contractors this can be a problem. For Bill and his team this was no problem. No clash of egos – everyone was just focused on getting the job done right.
As this job was on a hillside, I wanted it “overdesigned”. Bill delivered. The relationship with the city inspectors was great because they could see the outstanding design and attention to detail every time they came by. We are continuing to work with Bill and his team to landscape the property. I would be happy to recommend Brooker Associates to anyone.

Brooker Associates is one company that does it all… and with their own skilled crews. To begin with, they demolished the 40-year old concrete driveway and walkways, brick planters, plants, bushes, old sprinkler system, and lawn. They then expertly laid pavers to create a new driveway, front entryway, and patio. Decomposed granite was used to create walkways and driveway boarders; all contained within concrete edging boarders for a very professional look. Weed barriers were laid out, and the stepping stones, plants, trees, and flowers were arranged per the architectural rendering before planting. This allowed one last chance to change things around according to color, balance, and aesthetics. Finally, everything got planted, the drip watering system installed, and an amazing black-bark ground cover was used to create a stunning new front yard that really stands out!

Our exterior landscape has completely transformed into a beautiful santuary for which we love so much that we are enjoying now everyday.
This was quite an extensive project on a good size lot. It took a little over 6 months to finish: including dig out slope, retain walls, adding extra garage &driveway, new chimney, new outdoor pavilion, exterior stones/ granite counter works, BBQ gas /electric hook ups, pavers, sit-walls& steps; update pool & spa, new sprinklers & landscape trees & plants ,etc..Also, getting all city permits & signed off all city inspections for our project… We are really glad we used this company over 3 other ones we interviewed that would have to sub-contracting their works. Bill and his staff are so knowledgeable & dedicated with their work from attention to details they are with us every step of the way to make this entire project a dream comes true for us.
